What the Iris Shows

A fine dot-and-mesh print runs through the middle band, giving the iris grain in close-ups. The outer rim is a soft-edged darker brown ring, so the eye keeps shape in photos without an obvious circle. Coverage is moderate to full and semi-opaque, so it softens the natural iris while staying warm.

Lighting and Photo Notes

In golden-hour light the amber steps forward and looks honeyed. Under white LED panels it pulls back to a deeper chestnut with a quieter center, which suits calmer characters. With a ring light I move it slightly off-axis so the catchlight stays clean; the soft surface gloss reads as a normal eye highlight, not a plastic sheen. Flash keeps the softer rim from blowing out into a flat orange circle.

Wig, Makeup, and Styling

Chestnut, auburn, and gold-tinged brown wigs sit closest to this shade; jet-black wigs push the amber harder. I keep makeup in the same family — taupe or soft brown through the crease, thin brown liner, a little warm shadow on the lower lash line, shimmer only at the inner corner. For Natsume I skip heavy black liner and keep brows soft. For Rengoku I lean warmer: fuller lower lashes and blush that holds beside bright hair.
