Misa Amane Cosplay Contact Lenses: A Convention Day, Hour by Hour
You mostly see these lenses in perfect studio shots. Here is what they actually look like across a real convention day, hour by hour.
8am, putting them in
Clean hands, mirror, thirty seconds each. Pink is forgiving when you are half-awake because the colour reads immediately. No squinting at the mirror wondering if they are in.
10am, first photo
Bright morning light through the hall windows. Pink goes slightly lighter and the catchlight is huge. Both good things. The twin tails catch the same light and the face stays balanced.
1pm, the panel room
Dim, warm, no windows. This is where weak pink lenses die. Keep eye drops handy and shoot with the screen glow on your face; the colour will still read.
4pm, the crowded floor
Coloured booths everywhere. Pink is the one colour that can clash with pink lighting, so step out of the magenta booths before you shoot. Two steps to the side is often all it takes.
7pm, photos outside
Evening light is the friendliest light of the day for this colour. Warm, low, and soft. Shoot your favourites here.
The review we hear most
“I shot morning, midday, and evening and the pink only got better as the light dropped.”
